BSH Home Appliances Corporation, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), recalled certain Bosch and Siemens model dishwashers due to a fire hazard in the dishwasher control module.
Affected Models and Serial Numbers
The recall affects the following Bosch dishwasher models manufactured between 2005 and 2007:
- Bosch: SHE43C, SHE44C, SHE46C, SHE56C, SHU33, SHU42, SHU432, SHU43C, SHU53A
- Siemens: SL34A
Serial number ranges: FD7905 through FD8507 depending on model. Check the serial number on the rating plate inside the dishwasher door.
Hazard
A manufacturing defect in the dishwasher control module can cause overheating, posing a fire hazard. BSH received 51 reports of incidents, including 30 reports of fires resulting in property damage.
Units Affected
Approximately 96,000 units sold in the United States.
