    Open the access panel at the lower front of the washer. Place towels and a shallow pan underneath. Slowly unscrew the drain filter and remove lint, coins, and debris.

    Water will flow out when you open the filter — have towels ready. Some models have a small drain hose next to the filter for controlled draining.

    Check the drain hose

    Inspect the drain hose for kinks or sharp bends. Ensure it is not pushed too far into the standpipe (no more than 6 inches).

    A drain hose pushed too far into the standpipe can create a siphon effect.
